Dr. Shashi Tharoor at a meeting of development experts and citizens to brainstorm ideas for the development of Trivandrum. (Check this out, this is definitely one tech-savvy MP!!!)
TDF and yours truely were invitees and we look forward to working with the new MP. His style is more reminiscent of Washington than Delhi, which is what we need, more professional than political.
For a start, he is going to have a mostly non-political office team and he will be inviting informed and interested citizens as pro-bono consultants to work on development initiatives with him.
More details soon, stay tuned! To give you an idea of how it went, think Technocity, NH development, Vizhinjam and city twinning!

Wow...Great initiative there..
ReplyDeleteWaiting for more details Ajay..
this indeed is heartening!
ReplyDeleteway to go tharoor
Don't get over excited by Tarroor. We had seen Panyan also when he was elected . he didn't do anything. Even if Taroor wants do something, our bureaucracy will not allow him to do..Lets wait and see ..Hope for the best
ReplyDeleteI dont agree with the above comment... Panniyan proved that political mileage has nothing to do with development.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the case with Shashi Sir. I heard him saying in one interview that, he will make each beaureacrat answer for the delays in projects allocated to TVM.
If he brings in projects similar to NS corridor, from which TVM was conviniently avoided, thats enough.
Ajay, Tharoor making this landslide victory itself is still hard to believe for many of us, quite incredible...As for how much he will be able to do for Trivandrum, somehow i feel very optimistic...I have heard him speak when he came to UST Global at Technopark, all i can say is he is the perfect blend of vision and a practicality...Inspite of all the dirty politics and bureacracy, he will make a change...we just need to wait and see how big...It should be a really great opportunity for you to be part of all this!
ReplyDeleteCurious to know more details ..
